The co-existence of tail events and past-life regression
A new belief has formed for me, coming from a paradox between two seemingly opposing phenomena. I could not simply let them be because of their nature and significance towards our existence. And so, I kept trying to understand how they could possibly co-exist!
This next piece of writing is an ode to the co-existence of tail events and past-life regression! …insert smirk.
Before I start, let me point out how both concepts materialized at first as opposing matters in my head - this happened because I decided to read “The Psychology of Money”, Morgan Housel, immediately, followed by “Only Love is Real”, Brian Weiss, M.D. Ha! It was bound for disaster from the get-go.
Now, to the topic at hand and to get your engines going, let’s define the two concepts:
A) “Tail Events are rare or extreme events that lie at the tails of a probability distribution, often associated with high impact or significant consequences in fields like finance, risk management, or statistics.”
And B) “Past-life regression is a practice in some forms of psychotherapy or spiritual exploration where individuals are guided to recall or explore what are believed to be memories from past lives.”
Related to A), the first book exalts the randomness of life and how unexpected occurrences change the course of History and how this plays a role in how obscene fortunes are made. A strike of luck, the right risk, that specific decision et violá, Miraculum Habemus!
Related to B), the second book shows with precision and facts, not only how souls live multiple times, learning lessons and choosing the next challenge, but also how some souls seem to be ‘predestined’ to meet - over and over again.
Randomness and chance against destiny? Tail events against a foregone conclusion of choices?
Now that we have established these conflicting co-existing ideas, I'll go straight to my own conclusion:
Our lifetimes on earth are a distribution curve of endless occurrences in search of their Marvel tail event.
There is one additional fact that voids any attempt to refute this premise - The Big Bang. The Big Bang is the master boss of all tail events. We also know that to this day, the very vibration of its occurrence exists and can be measured in our cells as an endless ripple throughout time and space. It created endless new distribution curves of occurrences.
Past life regression documented studies and experiences show that each consciousness (aka soul) gains experiences, learns lessons, and tries again repeatedly in search of something (apparently searching for love, but I’ll leave that to another wave…)! The desire to re-live, experience different times, bodies, social status, births and deaths, relationships and emotions, and accept each existence as an attempt to succeed is arguably the process we apply in our day-to-day lives to excel, be better, and grow. This creates genius, unbelievable discoveries, and edge cases of success.
Maybe this is how actual geniuses appear. That particular lifetime might have just been their Marvel tail event.
I can't explain how hopeful and optimistic this makes me feel. It allows me to think about my current lifetime as a distribution curve in itself, where I should increase the number of occurrences (aka experiences) to increase my probability of finding my tail event. And by experiences here, I don’t mean mindless ones. I mean able to experience things, to recognize when they are complete and be able to let go of them, to let the next one manifest. I mean, to be able to be ok with failure and trying again if in your heart of hearts you know it is what you need to do.
Well, one thing I do believe in is, if not in this lifetime, it will undoubtedly be in a next one.
And I, well, I would rather have it sooner rather than later.
